October is month of fall festivalls in North Georgia. Apple festival, Marble festival, Octoberfest and others are held in different towns. The typical festival has arts and crafts booths, pony rides, inflatable jumping play houses or slides, face painting, and southern cooking of course. There are also pumpkin farms with hay rides, petting zoos, corn mazes, pumpkin carving and other fun stuff for kids. we didn't get to visit a pumpkin farm this time, but we went to get some fresh apples grown in the apple orchards in Ellijay.
